Cyclone Commitment Roundup Week 3

It was a tough week as one of Iowa State top commitments went down early in his game with an apparent ankle injury.

Cyclone Sports Report provides you with a complete rundown of how each of Iowa State's 2010 commitments fared during their games this past week.

Chris Young: The star wide receiver was hurt on the first series of his teams 53-28 victory over Northeastern Oklahoma A&M. He told Cyclone Sports Report that he badly sprained his ankle and that he also injured his achilles tendon. He will be a game-time decision this weekend against Cisco Junior College.

T.J. McCullough: T.J. helped North (FL) High School to a 21-14 victory over Dunnellon High School this past week. He had 6 tackles and forced one fumble. He and his teammates go for another win this weekend when they take on South Sumter High School.

Ricky Howard/Durrell Givens: The two Cyclone commits helped Chaffey (CA) College defeat Antelope Valley College 20-12. Tight end Ricky Howard had his first week without a catch as he told Cyclone Sports Report that the team went with more four wide receiver sets and that his main role in this specific game was to block. Safety Durrell Givens had a solid game with three tackles and one interception.

Jacob Gannon: It was very tough outing for the star offensive lineman from Iowa City (IA) West High School as his team lost to its rival Iowa City High School 49-10. This week they'll try to get back on track against Cedar Rapids Prairie.

Jared Barnett: The future Cyclone quarterback led an amazing comeback this past week against Cooper High School. With Garland High School trailing 30-13 with just under 7 minutes left in the game he led them back on three scoring drives that led to 34-30 victory. Jared was 25 of 32 for 256 yards and 3 touchdowns and he also rushed for 78 yards.

Kirby Van Der Kamp: The West Des Moines (IA) Valley High School punter had his first week with no punts due to his team beating Newton High School 48-7. He will be up near Iowa State this weekend when his team takes on Ames High School.
