Recruiting News and Notes

Cyclone fans may be down in the dumps over the Brandon Owens report earlier in the day, but some good news may be on the way before this weekend.

It appears that Coach McCarney will be making an in-home visit with Plantation (Fla.) linebacker H.B. Blades this evening. Hopefully Mac's excellence as a recruiting head coach will shine through and Blades will want to be a Cyclone.

From reliable sources, I'm hearing a commitment from Jason Berryman could be forthcoming this evening. Coach Mike Nelson will visit with the stud DE/OLB prospect from Houston (Texas) Kashmere and could get a verbal from him. All signs are that Berryman will spurn Arizona's latest run and add his name to ISU's list of commitments. This would be an absolutely huge get from a defender with exceptional speed.

Anthony Alridge is still torn between all of the programs he's considering, but the Cyclones' chances are pretty good. Let's hope he'll get over his hesitations of going to a program a few states away from home.

Still no word on the recruitment of Marquay Love and Jamie Thompson. The two have not returned phone calls the last two nights, plus I've been unable to reach their respective coaches.

Heartland Recruiting's David Garvin and I will stay on top of any breaking news and bring it to you.
