1)PASS RUSH MUST ARRIVE-Kansas quarterback Todd Reesing has played three times against Iowa State and is a combined 42 of 57 for 607 yards and eight touchdowns. If the Cyclone defense can't sack or hurry him much on Saturday things could get real ugly.
2)STOP THE DYNAMIC DUO-This could be the defensive secondary's toughest test of the year when they face Jayhawk stars Dezmon Briscoe and Kerry Meier. Last season Meier hauled in 10 passes for a career-high 141 yards and two touchdowns against Iowa State. This season Briscoe leads the Big 12 with an average of 110.3 yards receiving per game. The Jayhawk passing attack is 12th in the nation and must be contained on Saturday.
3)DOMINATE ON THIRD DOWN-Kansas is 11th in the nation on third down converting on 52% of their attempts. The Iowa State defense must be stronger on third down in order to keep the Jayhawk offense off the field. If Kansas converts on over fifty percent of their third downs on Saturday it will mean longer drives and likely a very tough loss for the Cyclones.
