ISU On Offense Against Baylor

The Iowa State offense was really clicking last week in Lawrence in their tough loss to Kansas. Can the Cyclone offense continue to explode on homecoming weekend against Baylor?

The Cyclone Sports Report Three Keys To Look For On Saturday Evening:

1)SCORE EARLY AND OFTEN-If Iowa State can get rolling early and take a halftime lead they should be in very good shape. Baylor has lost 20 consecutive games when trailing at half. The key is to score more than 21 points because in the Art Briles era his teams are 7-0 when allowing 21 points or fewer and 0-10 when allowing more than 21 points.

2)KEEP THROWING AND THROWING-Darius Darks is healthy and the Cyclones passing attack is starting to look very scary. With Darks, Marquis Hamilton, Jake Williams, and tight end Derrick Catlett playing well our passing game could become awfully scary to opposing defenses for the rest of the season if Austen Arnaud can stay consistent with his throwing.

3)RUN AWAY FROM PAWELEK-Iowa State leads the Big 12 in rushing with 209.5 yards per game and Alexander Robinson individually ranks second having rushed for 654 yards through six games. Iowa State really needs to make sure they block outstanding Baylor linebacker Joe Pawalek who is up for numerous awards this year. He was a preseason All-American and is currently tied for second in the Big 12 with 9.2 tackles per game. If he is able to run free he will become quite disruptive.
