The 6-foot-5, 260-pound defensive tackle said that his conversation started with small talk and that soon after he broke the exciting news to Coach Rhoads. "We were just catching up about our games from the past weekend and then he asked me about my recruitment," said Jensen. "It was then that I told him that I was ready to commit and he just got really excited."
Brandon feels that Coach Rhoads is truly the man to lead the Iowa State football program in the right direction. "I think it will be a great opportunity to play for him because I really like what he's doing with the program," he said.
"A big factor in my decision was the fact that I think Coach Rhoads will really turn this program around and I want to be a part of it."
Brandon also seemed to make his parents happy with his decision. "They really like that I chose Iowa State and they also are happy that I'll be playing for Coach Rhoads," said Jensen. "They also like that I'll be close and that they can see my games."
Jensen's not sure what his role will be next season but he's definitely glad to have ended his recruitment. "Coach Rhoads kind of said that it would be up to me in regards to whether I want to redshirt or not next season or whether I want to come in and compete right away," he said.
"I'm not sure what I will do but it's nice to be done so that I can just focus on my season now especially with the playoffs coming up."
