ISU on defense against Missouri

If the Cyclones want to go bowling in December the defense will likely have to have a repeat performance of what they did in Lincoln a month ago.

The Cyclone Sports Report Three Keys To Look For On Saturday:

1)TURNOVERS, TURNOVERS, TURNOVERS-Iowa State has been very consistent this season. When its defense forces turnovers they almost always win. When they don't it almost always guarantees a loss. The Cyclone defense must do it for four quarters because this Missouri team has collapsed twice this year and so even if the Cyclones are trailing late Missouri has proven to be vulnerable to late comebacks.

2)GET SOME SACKS-The Tigers have the 18th ranked passing offense in the country and the Cyclones rank 106th in total sacks on the season. If Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert has time to just sit in the pocket on Saturday, this game could become a route right away because Missouri has an offense that can become extremely explosive if no pressure is applied.

3)STOP DANARIO ALEXANDER-While Cyclone fans look at A-Rob as Alexander the Great, there will another great Alexander on the field who has 81 catches, 1,238 yards and 11 touchdowns on the season. He just won the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after catching 10 passes for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns against Kansas State.
