Xavious is 6-foot-2, 210-pounds and was moved around all over his defense throughout his senior season.
"I played middle linebacker, safety, and cornerback but Iowa State is just focusing on me to play safety," said Boyd. "Coach (Shane) Burnham told me that they like that I can come down and hit and that they feel I have really solid footwork for a defensive back. They also like my cover skills for a safety."
Xavious also has offers from Indiana, FIU, Western Kentucky, FAU, and South Alabama. "I'm hoping to take all my visits in January and then make my decision," he said. "The most important thing in my decision will be playing time and Iowa State has told me that I would be able to come in and compete for a spot right away. I'm also focusing on the education at each school because I want to major in business."
