Meet Austin Krick

Cyclone Sports Report talks with Clinton High School defensive end Austin Krick who passed up other opportunities in order to walk-on at Iowa State and try to gain a scholarship down the line.

Cyclone Sports Report: Which coach was recruiting you for Iowa State?

Austin Krick: Coach Messingham started talking to me last spring. He's real easy going and I really enjoy talking with him.

Cyclone Sports Report: What does the staff like most about you?

Austin Krick: They told me that they love how I play hard on every snap and how I got stronger as the game goes on.

Cyclone Sports Report: What do you think about Coach Rhoads?

Austin Krick: I really got to talk with him for a while on my unofficial visit last Saturday and I really liked him. You can tell that he's a players coach and I just think that he will treat me right while I'm at Iowa State.

Cyclone Sports Report: What is your current height and weight?

Austin Krick: I'm 6-foot-2 and I weigh 227 pounds.

Did you have any scholarship offers?

Austin Krick: I had offers from Chadron State and Augustana but I didn't want to go that route. The opportunity at Iowa State was too hard to pass up and I hope to do great things while I'm there.
