Lucien very interested in Iowa State

After landing two players from Crespi Carmelite (CA) High School last year, the Iowa State coaching staff has returned for more. Earlier this year they offered a scholarship to defensive end Reggie Coates and now they are targeting wide receiver Devin Lucien.

"Coach Elliott saw what I did at the USC camp and he also watched my highlight tape," said Lucien. "He said the Iowa State really likes my ability to create separation from defensive backs and my route running."

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound receiver currently holds offers from Iowa State, Tulsa, Air Force, Colorado, Illinois, and Oregon State. He said that Iowa State is clearly a school that he taking a serious look at for a possible visit. "I'm very interested in Iowa State and I got to talk more last week with Coach Elliott when he stopped by my school," said Lucien. "I would really like to go to a game in the fall."

Devin says that his former teammates, Pierce Richardson and Ben Loth, who will soon by Cyclones said that they think he would love Iowa State. "They told me to make sure that I took my visit," he said. "Being from California when you hear Iowa State you wouldn't necessarily get excited but they told me don't judge a book by its cover. They said it's real nice out there and that they think I would love it."

Along with playing wide receiver, Devin also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns last year and he told Cyclone Sports Report that Iowa State's offense is a perfect fit for him.

"I love the spread because we that's what we run here at Crespi," he said. "I feel that I would be able to come in and feel a lot more comfortable with the offense."

So what else is Lucien looking at in a school?

"The coaching is huge and on my visits I just want to feel a brotherhood because I definitely don't want a team with a bunch of individuals. I'm just looking for a great experience because college is supposed to be a lot of fun and so that is what I'm looking for in a school."
