Woodbury looking forward to meeting Hoiberg

Sioux City (IA) East High School's Adam Woodbury heard from new Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg right after he was hired and the two have talked a few times since that first conversation. Woodbury told Cyclone Sports Report that he is now looking forward to getting to meet Coach Hoiberg on a visit to Ames.

"He invited me to the Iowa State Elite Camp but it's the same day as my brother's graduation party," said Woodbury. "But I'm definitely going up on a visit in the near future to Iowa State and I really look forward to getting to know Coach Hoiberg as both a coach and as a person. I also look forward to getting to meet with the rest of the staff."

The 7-foot, 230-pound center now has offers from Iowa State, Utah, Creighton, Iowa, Nebraska, and Drake.

So what does Hoiberg like most about Woodbury?

"He told me that he likes my ability to use each hand on the block," said Woodbury. "He likes the way I run the court and he told me that he wants me to bring my solid basketball tools to play for him at Iowa State."

Adam is currently playing for the Martin Bros. U-16 team and will continue to be very busy throughout the summer.

"Coming up I first go to the Kansas Elite Camp," he said. "Then I'll be going to the Nike Hoops Jamboree in St. Louis."

Woodbury is not very close to making a decision but is looking forward to watching Hoiberg's first season at Iowa State.

"I'm in no hurry and I'm just going to let the process run its course," he said. "I'll likely wait until next year and during this next season I'll be watching to see if my abilities fit with Coach Hoiberg's style. When I feel I'm fully ready then I'll make my decision but I don't expect it to be anytime soon."
