Uthoff looking to narrow the field

Cedar Rapids (IA) Jefferson High School's Jarrod Uthoff has been one of the hottest players on the recruiting trail over the past few months and it has led to numerous scholarship offers. The star forward told Cyclone Sports Report that while he is clearly enjoying the recruiting process that he is ready to cut his list down in the near future.

"I currently have twelve offers but I'm looking the narrow it down to between three and five schools by the end of June," said Uthoff. "I think I will then take another visit to each of those schools and then make my decision sometime in July."

Jarrod has yet to name any favorites but he clearly indicated that Iowa State has made a very solid impression on him ever since Coach Hoiberg took over as head coach.

"I have had a lot of contact with Coach Hoiberg and Coach Otzelberger during the recruiting process and I really like both of them," he said. "Coach Hoiberg is really a great guy and we are developing a great relationship. I will definitely be strongly considering them when I make my cut down to three to five schools."

The 6-foot-8, 190-pound forward will be in Ames tomorrow before starting a very busy summer schedule.

"I'm actually going up to Iowa State for an unofficial visit to Iowa State on Thursday to see the coaches and the guys," said Uthoff. "Then I will be playing in the Iowa City West Shootout with my high school this weekend. Then after a weekend off I start up again with the Iowa Barnstormers AAU team again and over the next few weeks we will go to Milwaukee, Chicago, and Las Vegas."
