Last summer, over 1,700 kids camped at Nebraska and he ran the fastest electronic forty time with a 4.55 (equates to 4.4 hand held). He also ran a 1.47 over the first ten yards, which is one of the top times ever by a camper or even a Nebraska player.
"I just use my quickness and speed, Grixby said. "I also like to out-think the wide receivers."
This past season, Grixby only played corner part-time because he is the starting quarterback. He came in on defense in third and long situations. They (the opponent) in turn, stayed away from him. Grixby threw for over 1,200 yards last season and ran for over 800, including 14 touchdowns.
In regards to recruiting, Grixby is pretty open at the moment and is looking at a lot of schools.
"I am open. Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, Notre Dame, Iowa State and Oklahoma are just some of the schools I like. I am looking at coaching staffs and how comfortable I feel at where ever I decide."
Grixby's older brother, DeAnte, is a senior running back at Nebraska. Grixby may attend one of the Nike Camps and is also thinking of camping at Nebraska and Colorado. Last season in the state basketball playoffs, he fractured an ankle. He is now 100%.
