CSR talks visit with Coleman

Cyclone Sports Report was first to report last week that Minnetonka (MN) Hopkins High School's Joe Coleman would be visiting Iowa State for an unofficial visit. CSR recently caught up with him to see how things went for him during his day in Ames.

Cyclone Sports Report: What were some of the things that you did on your visit to Iowa State?

Joe Coleman: I got there about three in the afternoon and the coaches first showed us the new practice facility which is really a nice place. Then I went and played with some of the players. It was a real fun experience.

Cyclone Sports Report: Did you spend most of the time with Coach Hoiberg?

Joe Coleman: Yeah, he showed us around campus and where the players stay when they are at school. He also took us over to see Hilton Coliseum which was really nice.

Cyclone Sports Report: Did you get to talk one-on-one with him also?

Joe Coleman: Yeah, he mostly talked with me about how he would use me as a player and he also talked with me about how he wanted to help me achieve my goals after college.

Cyclone Sports Report: What are your overall thoughts about your visit to Iowa State.

Joe Coleman: It was definitely a good experience. Hopefully I can check it out in the fall when everyone is back at school.

Cyclone Sports Report: You have scholarship offers from Creighton, Colorado State, Minnesota, Iowa State, Seton Hall, and Santa Clara. Have you added any new offers in the past week.

Joe Coleman: Yeah, I received an offer from Siena.

Cyclone Sports Report: Have you set a timetable for when you want to make your decision?

Joe Coleman: I'm not sure right now but I'll definitely be talking things over with my family over the next few weeks. I'm considering setting up some official visits for the fall but I'm just not completely sure yet.
