Marcus Paige: I have offers from Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Michigan, Minnesota, and Virginia.
Cyclone Sports Report: Are there any other schools besides those six that are recruiting you as hard but just haven't offered yet?
Marcus Paige: The other two schools that I put in with the other six are Kansas and Wisconsin. They have not offered me yet but they are the two schools that are recruiting me just as hard as the other six.
Cyclone Sport Report: When are you ultimately looking to make your decision?
Marcus Paige: I hoping to make it either next spring or by the end of the summer. If I can't make it by then I will likely have it narrowed down to two or three schools.
Cyclone Sport Report: You received your first scholarship offer from former Iowa State head coach Greg McDermott during the summer before your freshman season. How did new Cyclone head coach Fred Hoiberg handle your recruitment once he took over the position?
Marcus Paige: He called me pretty soon after he got the job and told me I still had my offer with Iowa State.
Cyclone Sports Report: What are your thoughts about Coach Hoiberg?
Marcus Paige: I got to meet with him earlier this summer and I feel like he's a good guy and that our relationship is evolving pretty well. Iowa State is definitely a school that I am still considering. Everyone from that list of eight is equal to me right now.
Cyclone Sports Report: What have been the highlights of your summer?
Marcus Paige: Placing seventh at Nationals down in Orlando, Florida out of about 120 teams was definitely a highlight because we (Martin Bros. 16-U) had not been playing well going into the tournament. We all came together and made a nice run. The other main highlight would be winning the tournament in Milwaukee recently because we beat Dream Vision (Las Vegas) a team that beaten us earlier in the summer for the championship so that felt good.
Cyclone Sports Report: What parts of your game do you feel you still need to be working on the most?
Marcus Paige: I want to keep getting more consistent with my shooting. I also need to keep getting stronger and I'm trying to improve my quickness.
Cyclone Sports Report: What part of your game do you feel you have improved on the most during this summer?
Marcus Paige: I know I just said that I want to improve my shooting but I am pleased with how I have improved my three-point shooting this summer.
Cyclone Sports Report: You are moving up in the national player rankings due to your strong play this summer. How do you view things like that?
Marcus Paige: I notice that stuff but I don't make it seem too important. It is nice to see that my hard work is paying off but I just make sure it doesn't go to my head.
