For the third straight year, Iowa downed Iowa State in the battle for the Cy-Hawk Trophy. A rivalry game is usually a great time for teams to have recruits/prospects in for a visit. With a full electric stadium, players can get a real feel for the program.
It was the hope for Iowa with Ogemaw Heights (MI) lineman Anthony Zettel. Zettel was expected to come to Iowa this weekend for an unofficial visit, but never made it.
"I didn't go," said Zettel in a text message to HI. "I was scheduled to come in for an unofficial, but it wasn't going to work because we didn't have enough time to get down there."
Ogemaw Heights played on the road Friday night, downing Pinconning 53-6.
"I haven't rescheduled yet," said the Scout.com 4-star player.
Ogemaw Heights is now 2-1 on the season. Zettel is playing, but battling a foot sprain.
"It's getting better. I would say it's about 80%," said Zettel.
The senior has double digit offers and is being recruited both on the offensive/defensive side of the football. The 6-foot-4, 255 pounder appears to be a high on Michigan at this point, but will take some officials before deciding.
HawkeyeInsider.com will continue to monitor Anthony Zettel's recruitment and let Iowa fans know if anything breaks.
