Sometimes going back to where it all started can be a really good thing.

Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz got his coaching start as a non-GA at Worcester Academy in Massachusetts. He served as the offensive line/defensive coordinator from 1978-1979.

It's why class of 2012 wide receiver/safety Canaan Severin has interest in the Hawkeyes. He plays for Hilltoppers and knows Coach Ferentz was there at one point.

"They know where you are coming from," said Severin. "That is really nice. I know that he was here along with Coach O'Keefe as well. To think they were here and now at Iowa, that's pretty cool. I definitely have interest in Iowa. They are a good program."

Severin had 30 catches for 450 yards and five touchdowns in 2009 as a sophomore. He also had three interceptions.

Worcherster kicks off their season tomorrow night against Blair Academy.

"The season is going be good. We're looking really good this year. We picked up a lot of good post- grads and our 1st game is Saturday against Blair Academy," said Severin. "It feels like we've been waiting forever to play. Watching other teams play there games makes me just want to play even more."

Serverin holds one verbal offer already from Boston College. He is also getting interest from Oregon, Tennessee, Tulane, Connecticut, and Alabama.

"Alabama just started to have some interest in me," said Severin. "That was really exciting. The hard work is paying off.

"I want everyone to be interested in me. When you grow up you always watch the best teams and they'd be nice to go to."
