-Adam Gettis rotated into the game at right guard in the second quarter.

-Stanzi is the first quarterback in history to win three starts in a row against Joe Paterno, according to Iowa Sports Information.

-Ferentz said he would elaborate more next week on the status of defensive coordinator Norm Parker after he learns more. Parker missed his fourth game in a row after being hospitalized due to complications from diabetes.

-Ferentz said he didn't think they overworked running back Adam Robinson, who had 28 carries for 95 yards. The coach said that they would have handed it to the sophomore 50 times if they had to with a bye week coming up. Robinson said in his postgame interview that he would have taken it 50 times, although he was sore and tired.

-Michael Meyer continued to hold the place kicking job after taking over the position last week. Murray and Trent Mossbrucker did not see action on Saturday.

-Freshmen running backs Marcus Coker and Brad Rogers did not see any action in Saturday's game. Rogers ran into the huddle for a play when Robinson had an equipment malfunction, but a delay of game gave the starter a chance to rectify that issue and Rogers returned to the sideline before a play was run.

-The game featured 16 punts for a combined 612 yards.

-Iowa won for the 19th time in its last 22 games and for the eight time in the last nine against Penn State.
