Napanee (Ind.) Northwood 2012 running back Coy Brown is getting better as the season goes on. After opening the season with just a 36-yard performance, Brown has been crucial in the Panthers offensive scheme.

"It hasn't been the best year, but as a team and as a individual I'm still working hard staying positive and looking forward to each game," said Brown. "Our school is known for a pro-style offense and option runs. Our coaches have finally gone back to it and I have thrived. In three games, I rushed for over 500 yards."

Through nine games, Brown has a total of 970 yards. Last week, he recorded 21 carries for 115 yards against (7-3) Plymouth.

"We haven't beat them in about five years. We won 7-3 in a hard nose battle. They haven't lost a conference game in a while either," said Brown. "I could have had a lot more yards, but had two long runs called back. Including one for 50-yards."

Northwood is currently 4-5 on the year and face Rochester later tonight, their last game of the season before postseason play.

At this time, the junior is drawing the attention from programs like Iowa, Indiana, Northwestern, Michigan State, Kentucky, Illinois, Notre Dame, and Michigan.
