HI publisher Rob Howe provides news and notes from throughout the day from Kinnick Stadium where Iowa plays host to Wisconsin.

5:30 - Iowa gets three yards in four plays before Meyer connects on career-best 40-yard field goal to boost Hawkeye lead to 30-24 with 8:35 to play in the fourth quarter.

5:25 - Hawkeyes come back with a seven yard TD pass from Stanzi to McNutt at the 10:16 mark of the fourth quarter.

Iowa drive takes 13 plays, covers 80 yards and takes 5:45 off the clock.

Meyer makes PAT and Iowa leads 27-24.

5:20 - Adam Robinson had nine rushing yards in the third quarter after running for 74 in the first half.

Wisconsin burns its second timeout of the half with 11:41 remaining in the fourth quarter. Challenge fails for Bielema and Iowa gets first down.

5:10 p.m. - End of the third quarter with Wisconsin leading Iowa, 24-20. The Hawkeyes will start the fourth quarter with a first and 10 on its own 36.

Adam Gettis has gone the whole way at RG for Iowa. Have not heard about a Nolan MacMillan injury.

Iowa leads in total yardage, 269-267.

5:05 p.m. - Wisconsin responds with four-play 51-yard drive taking 2:07 off the clock. Clay runs it in from 2-yards out.

The penalty by Shumpert on the kickoff, offsides, was a killer.

4:55 - Iowa answers with a 45-yard touchdown pass from Stanzi to DJK with 3:08 to play in the third quarter.

Iowa drive goes seven plays covering 69 yards in 3:22. DJK needs two more receptions to pass Kevin Kasper as Iowa's all-time leader in catches.

4:45 p.m. - Wisconsin goes up 17-13 on a John Clay 2-yard run with 6:30 remaining in the third quarter.

Badgers drive goes 12 plays covering 80 yards in 6:27.

Donahue punt of 71 yards earlier in the quarter was the fourth longest in his career 13th longest in Iowa history.

4:40 p.m. - Jeremiha Hunter goes out with right knee injury. Lance Tillison has replaced him.

Wisconsin first and 10 at the Iowa 11. Clay looks to be back on his feet after getting knocked into bench.

Badgers already without White and Kendricks.

3:40 p.m. - Iowa defensive line has rebounded after a slow start and getting pushed around by massive Badger offensive line.

Iowa leads in total yardage, 136-132

3:40 p.m. - Fake field goal by Iowa blows up as holder Ryan Donahoe thrown for four-yard loss.

Meyer would have been trying from 31 yards out. His longest is 30, last week at Michigan.

3:25 p.m. - Wisconsin has eaten up 13:29 of the clock on its two drives.

3:20 p.m. - Badgers grab 10-6 lead on 7-yard TD pass from Tolzien to Ewing with 12:11 left in the second quarter. Drive goes 10 plays and 59 yards in 5:20.

Tolzien is 8 for 8 for 84 yards.

3:10 p.m. - After one quarter, Iowa leads Wisconsin, 6-3.

Tolzien is 4 for 4 for 54 yards.

Wisconsin will start the second quarter with a first and 10 on the Iowa 30.

3:00 - Iowa answers with a 1-yard TD run with 2:31 to play in the first quarter. Meyer PAT blocked.

Scoring drive was 9 plays covering 74 yards.

Iowa has had two PATs blocked this season and its longest field goal make is 30 yards.

Robinson carried 7 times for 48 yards on the march.

2:55 p.m. - John Clay carried six times for 34 yards on Wisconsin's opening drive.

2:45 p.m. - Wisconsin scoring drive went 15 plays for 70 yards in 8:09. Welch 33-FG gives Badgers 3-0 lead.

That ended a streak of 23 straight trips into the red zone where Wisconsin came away with a TD minus kneel downs.

2:40 p.m. - Iowa uses five true freshman on its kickoff team now - Meyer, Hitchens, Shumpert,Morris and Kirksey.

2 p.m. - Looks like Gettis gets start at RG and Daniels starts at DT with Ballard at DE and Binns off the bench.

1:45 p.m. - Brett Morse dressed. Looks ready to roll.

1:25 p.m. - Back from Carver. Guys were working a lot on defense - 2-3 halfcourt zone and 1-2-2 fullcourt press.

McCabe looked really good. I can see why he's pushing for playing time and possibly gets into the starting lineup.

I'll have a writeup on what I saw by early in the week.

Noon - Yes, I'm already in the press box. Not much going on here, so I'm headed over to Carver-Hawkeye Arena for the open basketball practice.
