"My top would be Georgia Tech, Penn State, Iowa, UCLA , Michigan , Michigan St. and UMD," said Cooper to HawkeyeInsider.com. "Florida has joined in the case and has been contacting me a lot lately, they just want to see some tape, but they've already talked about getting me out for an official visit later.
"I still don't have a leader out of these schools and will definitely look to have my top five list before I start taking my official visits in December."
Cooper has always stated that he doesn't want to rush anything and is now taking his time. He plans to use everyone of his official visits. His recruitment has been somewhat put on the back burner due DeMatha's up and down play. The senior felt his focus needed to be on his team.
"I have just really been kind of focused on my season. We had a few mishaps in the season and we just needed to clear some things up. I distanced myself from the whole recruiting process," said Cooper.
Last week, the Stags played without the services of their defensive tackle. Cooper had a sprained ligament in his foot. DeMatha did not want to take any chances with the key d-lineman. He was held out of practice for the week and did not play on Friday night.
"I was running fine today, I feel as though I got my speed back," said Cooper on Tuesday. "We are a deep team full of talent, so the guys that filled in were more than capable of handling the job."
HawkeyeInsider.com will continue to monitor and track Cooper's recruitment.
