Law Solid with Iowa

Some eyebrows were raised on Saturday when 2011 Iowa verbal commitment Nico Law unofficially visited home-state Maryland. The safety also said he was going to honor an official visit to the school next month. Law explains in this Hawkeye Insider update.

As if back-to-back losses weren't enough for Hawkeye fans to handle, one of their Class of 2011 recruits made some of them nervous with a few tweets on Saturday.

Nicholas Law, a safety from Maryland, unofficially visited Maryland Saturday for the Terrapins game against Florida State:

"I'm emotional rite now! Md keep knockin on my door..imma pray," Law posted on his Twitter page. He also tweeted: "Fanz keep saying stay home! Smh (shaking my head)."

Translation for the non-Twitter crowd: Maryland and its fans are encouraging him to stay home. He's shaking his head because he's committed to Iowa.

Yes, it could be interpreted other ways. It's also a few months to signing day and things change. But as of now, Law is "100 percent" a Hawkeye.

"Oh my God," Law told me on Sunday. "I'm not going anywhere. I keep my word though."

Law had scheduled the unofficial before his Iowa commitment. He also set up an official to Maryland for December and plans to honor it.

"I'll keep my word on my commitment to Iowa and I'm keeping my word on the Maryland visit," Law said. "I promised them I would take my official and it's the home school. I mean, you gotta respect a man's word."

Law said he has not spoken to the Iowa coaches about the official visit to Maryland. He intended to do so this week.

In addition to his tweets about the Terrapins on Saturday, Law also cheered on Iowa through tweets and referred to the Hawkeyes as "we."
