Cooper Confirms Iowa Visit With HI

On Wednesday night, DeMatha defensive tackle Darian Cooper confirmed with HawkeyeInsider.com that he will be visiting Iowa City in late Jan.

Reports of official visits to Iowa for DeMatha teammates Cyrus Kouandjio and Darian Cooper have been circulating for a while, but HawkeyeInsider.com was able to confirm on Wednesday night that an official for the two has been planned in late January.

Cooper will be visiting Penn State on Jan. 20th, his Iowa visit will come some time after that.

"Michigan State already taken, Georgia Tech on Friday, and Penn State on January 20th. Iowa sometime in late January after my visit to Penn State," said Cooper over Facebook.

Cooper, ranked as the No. 24 defensive tackle in the country by Scout.com, still denies a leader up to this point.

Former teammates with Iowa running back Marcus Coker, Cooper has yet to share the news of a visit with the freshman running back.

Iowa outlook: Iowa fans should be excited for Cooper's visit for two reasons.

1.)Iowa looks to be Cooper's either last or second to last trip. At this time, he reported that he might not take all five visits. Iowa would like to be fresh in the defensive tackle's mind when he goes to make a decision before signing day.

2.) Cooper and Kouandjio are coming together. We have reported before it's not a driving force, but the two have talked about playing in the future together before. Right now, it appears that Iowa is the logical place for them to do that together.
