Spencer Named To Texas 5A 2nd Team All-State

Domenic Spencer was a staple of the Skyline HS (TX) defense this season, and was rewarded with some postseason honors. Come inside to get the very latest on the 2012's recruitment.

Even with three loses, the Skyline HS (TX) defense was one of the better in the state of Texas this year and a large part of it was due to the play of defensive end Spencer Domenic. The class of 2012 prospect was named to the Texas AP All-State Second team and should be a force his senior year.

"They are moving me back to linebacker my senior year," said Spencer. "My numbers should go up and I think I can really help the team from the position."

Skyline loses a couple great linebackers in 2011, including Oregon commitment Anthony Wallace.

"When scouts were here watching guys like Anthony, they noticed me, but now it's my turn," said Spencer.

It's no surprise that Spencer was noticed. The junior recorded over 50 tackles from the defensive end position and had a double digit sack season.

"I'm still waiting on that first offer. The only people that send me mail are Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and SMU.

"Texas A&M is sort of my dream school. Home of the 12th man? Man I would love playing in front of a crowd like that."

If Texas A&M doesn't offer, Spencer will look to impress at camps this summer, including ones at SMU and Iowa.

"I would love to try to go to a camp at Iowa. I watch Iowa on T.V., their linebackers are always playing downhill. They are for real.

"SMU is close to home, so I will never get home sick. My whole family could see me play there."

Spencer is 6-foot and weighs 215 pounds.
