Ohio TE Names Big Leader

Jamie Newberg, TheInsiders.com National Recruiting Anyalst, wrote this report on one of the top prospects in Ohio. Could the Hawks have their eyes set on this tight end?

Chad Hoobler is one of the top prospects from the state of Ohio. Hoobler, 6-4.5 and 220 pounds, plays tight end and middle linebacker for Carrollton High School. Last season as a junior, he caught 16 passes for 230 yards and 3 touchdowns and recorded 101 tackles, 3 sacks and 10 tackles for a loss.

"As a tight end, I am physical off the ball, stay low, a good blocker and I can catch," Hoobler said. "As a linebacker, I read the play and make the play. It really doesn't matter to me what position I play. I just want to play ball."

According to Hoobler, Penn State has offered him a scholarship and they are his big leader at the moment.

"They are. I was there last Friday and Saturday. I really like their coaches, the way they run things and I feel at home there. They like me as a tight end. I also have been to Ohio State and Pittsburgh. This weekend I will visit Michigan. Recruiting has gotten pretty exciting. I hope to make a decision in a month or two. Right now, Penn State leads Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Boston College and Iowa."
