Kirk Visits Hamilton

Kirk Ferentz was in Strongsville, Ohio on Tuesday night. The Iowa head coach was building a stronger relationship with tight end commitment Ray Hamilton. Come inside to get all the details. 3-star tight end Ray Hamilton committed to Iowa in June. Never once did rumors fly of his commitment after that. He's considered himself a Hawk for a while now, but it didn't stop head coach Kirk Ferentz from stopping by and spending some time with the senior on Tuesday night.

"We talked about how excited I was to be a part of what's going on now and coming up for the Hawks," said Hamilton. "We spent a lot of time just working on our relationship and getting to know each other even better than we did before. There's no more recruiting lines that need to be said, I'm a Hawk and I wouldn't have it any other way.

"For him to come visit me, means a lot. His schedule is only comparable to the President. For him to come and spend time with my parents and me means the world. Coach Ferentz is so genuine and a true class act. I knew that when I first met him, he's a big reason I feel so comfortable with this huge decision."

With signing day now only a week away, Hamilton's excitement level hasn't been higher. He can' t wait to officially become a member of the Iowa program.

"It's like having Christmas morning twice in a little over two months. That will be the best ink I've ever put down on paper. I'm trying to find an American flag pen to make it perfect...It's a Northeast Ohio thing, Rick understands."

Iowa fans can only hope that Hamilton's career turns out to be like Stanzi's.
