Iowa near the top for Chesson

After visiting Iowa twice, with plans to visit this spring, St. Louis wide receiver Jehu Chesson says the Hawkeyes are a school that standout. Who else is he looking at? What did he think of Iowa's junior day? The junior talks with HI inside.

After snagging 53 catches, for 605 yards and 11 touchdowns last season, Ladue high school(MO) wide receiver Jehu Chesson is one of Missouri's top prospects in the class of 2012.

With junior day visits to Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois already in the books, the 6-foot-3, 180 pound prospects hopes to pick up his first offer soon.

"Iowa's junior day was nice, I enjoyed it a lot. I went up there with my dad and brother to tour the facilities. But, that wasn't my first trip to Iowa, I had also went to a game during the season," said Chesson to HI. "I would say they are one of my top teams that I'm interested in.

"I like the coaches and the program. Anyone can see they have had success and have had it for a while"

Chesson doesn't have plans to hit anymore junior days, but the St. Louis product will be trying to go to various spring practices and spring games.

"Iowa is one of the schools that I will try to make it to this spring."

So what is the receiver looking for in a school?

"The biggest things for me will be the academics and the football team. Academically, I don't know what I want to major in, but the football team has to be sound for instance," said the junior. "I need to know what role I will play on offense and so forth."

Chesson doesn't have a timetable for a decision. He is thinking about participating in the Nike Combine in Fort Worth, Texas later this spring. If Chesson shows up, HI will make sure to evaluate.
