Pipkins hopes to make it to Iowa camp

Park Hill (MO) junior defensive tackle Ondre Pipkins is now up to five offers, but Iowa is still wanting to see him in person before extending an offer. Come inside for the latest on the Missouri product's recruitment.

Park Hill (MO) junior defensive tackle Ondre Pipkins hoped to make it to Iowa for junior day, but Mother Nature didn't agree. It could be why the Hawks have not extended an offer to the Kansas City product when five other schools have.

"I just talked to Coach Johnson last week. We are still talking, but they want to see me first before they offer," said Pipkins to Scout.com. "A lot of schools want to do that. I don't mind it. I'm going to try my best to get to some camps so I can perform for coaching staffs. If I don't make it to Iowa hopefully they still offer."

At 6-foot-3, 320 pounds, the future 4-star defensive tackle now boasts offers from Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Tennessee, and Michigan State.

"I definitely need to see how my high school schedule looks before I make camp plans, but I hope to make it out to Iowa. It's a place I'm interested in," said Pipkins.

"They are a great school and have a great tradition. Every year they seem to have some level of success. Some years better than others, but they are always in a bowl game. The coaching staff looks like they know what they are doing with their athletes. It's a great program and one of the top in the Big Ten right now."
