Williams Says He's Open to Suggestions

When we first saw DeAaron Williams at the Boo Williams Invitational last year, we knew he was going to be a player. Now, the Illinois Warriors small forward is blossoming into a high-major recruit.

DeAaron Williams is top ranked senior for Larry Butler's Illinois Warriors. Williams, a junior small forward, helped guide the Warriors into the playoffs at the Boo Williams event last weekend.

As a player, Williams is a smooth slasher who has no problem getting to the rim. In a Saturday game against the Alabama Lasers, he struggled from the perimeter (see shot chart) but reportedly regained his touch later in the afternoon session.

Williams is very athletic. He runs in transition and is a good passer. He says that he's pretty wide open when it comes to colleges. However, he did give us a list of schools that are recruiting him the hardest.

Missouri, Marquette and Iowa have offered scholarships already. Illinois has not offered but is doing a lot of work with him. We understand that DePaul has also offered a scholarship.

Last season, Williams averaged 18 points and 8 rebounds as a junior.
