Three recruits in two years and down to the wire with a few more, Iowa is quickly starting a pipeline at DeMatha Catholic HS in Maryland and looks to pull in another 3-star for the 2012 class.

Three recruits in two years and down to the wire with a few more, Iowa is quickly starting a pipeline at DeMatha Catholic HS in Maryland.

After snagging Jordan Lomax and Darian Cooper in the 2011 class, Iowa is now after 2012 defensive end Brent Wilkerson.

"I picked up an Iowa offer last week," said Wilkerson to HawkeyeInsider.com. "I'm excited to learn more about Iowa. DeMatha has a pipeline going there and I'm interested in seeing why a lot of people from Maryland are choosing to go there.

At 6-foot-4, 245 pounds, the 3-star projected defensive end has now 16 offers. Schools besides Iowa include: South Carolina, Michigan, West Virginia, Penn State, Maryland, Boston College, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Duke, Illinois, Michigan State, North Carolina State, Rutgers and Virginia.

"Darian Cooper and Jordan Lomax from my school are both going to Iowa, so they are always in my ear about the school," said Wilkerson.

In recent Scout.com articles, Wilkerson has said at this point he does not have any favorites.
