Morgan to visit Iowa in April 3-star safety Anthony Morgan seems to be favoring two schools at this point. One of them is Iowa and the Hawkeyes have offered. Why does the Texas product like Iowa? Come inside for the details.

Iowa has always had strong recruiting ties in the state of Texas, signing three players from the Lone Star State in 2011 recruiting class.

Now, the Hawks are back in Texas again for the 2012 class, offering talent all across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

One player they have targeted is Prestonwood safety Anthony Morgan. The 6-foot-2, 190 pounder is quickly seeing his interest spike.

"I have three offers at this point, New Mexico, Iowa, and Stanford," said Morgan. "It was crazy when Iowa offered. They were like my second choice going into the recruiting process. My top choices are Oklahoma and Iowa, so it's kind of between those two. When they offered me it was just really exciting to know that I accomplished my goal of getting a D-1 scholarship to a school I really want to go."

So what is it about the Hawkeyes that Morgan likes?

"I just really like the defense. Every time I watch them, they look like they have a great defense on T.V. I know they put a lot of guys in the NFL every year, so they have always been on my radar. It also looks like they have a great coaching staff."

Morgan is planning a trip to Iowa on April 15th, but not before heading to Oklahoma, his top school of choice later this week.

"I went to their camps the past few years and I'm actually going up there this Thursday for a visit to see a spring practice," said Morgan. "I just want to see how everything runs and the campus and stuff.

"My decision will be based off of the feeling I get at the school when I visit and what school I think I could ply faster at. Where I feel the most wanted. "

Morgan is planning to make his decision before the start of his senior season, electing to get it out the way to focus on his last year of high school football.
