Cory Batey isn't one to hide his emotions. Some recruits say they're pleased with how recruiting is going even though they might not be satisfied. Not the two-way athlete from Nashville.
"It's going kind of slow," the 2012 WR-DB said. "I don't know. Maybe I'm just impatient. I only have three offers so far and I'd like more.
"But, there's nothing I can do about it. I can only control what I can control. I just have to keep working hard."
"I've talked to the (Iowa) coaches," Batey said. "They've watched a lot of my film. They're not sure which side of the ball they see me on. Hopefully, we'll get a better idea this weekend. They said they were going to look at me on both sides and figure it out."
Batey wants to play wide receiver at the next level.
"My plan at camp is to try to run good routes and beat everybody," he said. "I think my strength is route running. I craft my routes. I also have good body control out of breaks."
Batey wants to study communications or business management in college. He's not sure when he'll make his decision, but it could be a while.
"I'm probably going to take my five official visits if I get the offers and narrow it down to that," he said. "I really want to take the officials so I can get a feel for the whole place and the atmosphere. I know they won't move me to kicker or anything, but I don't want to go somewhere where they tell me I'm going to play one position and change me to another one I don't want to play."
