Iowa Still on Edmiston

Nashville DB Rodney Edmiston came to Iowa City last weekend hoping for a Hawkeye offer. Even though the Class of 2012 prospect didn't achieve that goal, he said the Iowa coaches still will recruit him hard.

Rodney Edmiston attended Iowa camp hoping for a scholarship offer. Although he left Iowa City without one, he's still encouraged.

"I talked with Coach (Eric) Johnson on Tuesday," the2012 safety from Nashville said. "He said they still are going to recruit me hard throughout my senior year."

Iowa defensive backs coach Phil Parker told the 6-foot, 180-pound prospect that he liked his press man coverage at the camp.

Edmiston said that he was really impressed with Kinnick Stadium.

"I didn't get to see much of the actual school," he said. "I really liked Coach (Phil) Parker a lot."

Edmiston camped at Iowa, Louisville and Furman. He's scheduled to wrap up his summer camps with a trip to Tennessee-Chattanooga on July 23.

"I'll just keep working out and getting better," Edmiston said. "I'm hoping to get an offer from Furman soon."
