Lee: Iowa High on My List

Iowa stepped forward with a scholarship offer for 2012 Michigan point guard Ray Lee less than two weeks ago. The Hawkeyes have impressed him with their persistence in building a relationship.

It's only been a little over a week since Ray Lee received a scholarship offer from Iowa. The Hawkeyes have made progress in that short time with the 2012 point guard from Michigan.

"I like Coach (Andrew) Francis," Lee said. "I don't have a Top 5 yet as far as narrowing it down, but Iowa is up there among my top schools. I hear from them a lot and they probably show the most interest. We're building a real good relationship."

After playing for The Family AAU squad, Lee will be with Reach Legends this summer. They'll be at the Adidas Invitational in Indianapolis, the DI Elite in Chicago or Indiana, The Vegas 64 and the Best of Summer in California.

There's a good chance that he will see Iowa in the stands at those events.

"They told me they want someone who can take over a game and make plays," he said. "They want someone who can make a huge impact from Day One."

Louisville, Marshall and Texas Tech have jumped in to the recruitment of Lee. In addition to Iowa, he has secured scholarship offers from Xavier, Central Florida, Iowa State, Baylor, Dayton and Virginia.
