Johnson Visting Iowa

Will Johnson would like to commit before the end of summer. Part of that process is getting to know better the schools on his list. One of those programs is Iowa, where he'll take another look next week.

Will Johnson is sitting pretty in the recruiting process. He holds offers from seven BCS schools, including defending national champion Auburn.

Johnson has begun the process of getting to know better the schools on his list. The 2012 tight end from Minnesota has decided that he'd like to make his college choice before his senior season kicks off, although the timetable is tentative.

"I'm going down to Iowa again next week, (Wednesday)," the 6-foot-7, 240-pound Osseo High product said.

Johnson, ranked as Scout.com's 45th best TE in his class nationally, took one of his first visits to Iowa and then returned in the spring.

"Since then, they've offered," he said. "I want to go down again and sit with coaches and get a look at the campus and academics. I'd like to build a relationship with the coaches."

Johnson was at Ole Miss last weekend and also has visited Auburn, Iowa State and Minnesota and also planned to visit Michigan State after Iowa. All but the Spartans have offered a scholarship.

"Vanderbilt also has been in touch recently and wanted to know if I'd consider a visit there," Johnson said. "I'm considering it."

I wrote about Johnson after his Iowa offer. You can read that here.
