Change in Plans

Pat Ingram thought his plans were set for some campus visits this week, but things have changed. Hawkeye Insider caught up with the Indy guard to get the latest.

Patrick Ingram targeted the end of July as his commitment date. That changed to early to mid August. Now, it's moved again.

On Sunday, the 2012 off guard from Indianapolis told HI that he would be visiting Iowa and Loyola this week and hoped to fit in his third finalist, St. Louis, soon. He scheduled visits to Iowa on Thursday and Loyola on Saturday.

Monday, Iowa Head Coach Fran McCaffery informed Ingram that he wouldn't be in Iowa City on Thursday. He suggested the recruit come in early this week or Friday.

"I just decided to take an official later this month," Ingram said on Tuesday.

He begins classes at North Central High on Aug. 17. By NCAA rules, he can then take an official visit.

"I'll probably go to Iowa that week," he said.

Ingram still will head to Loyola on Saturday and is planning a visit to St. Louis on Aug. 12. He's anxious to get his decision done, but he's handling the changes in plans well.

"I thought for a while that some other schools might come in when I changed my July (timeline)," Ingram said. "But, I've been down to these three schools for a while and I should be able to get it done by the end of the month."

Here's a link to our Sunday story in which Ingram speaks on his finalists.
