Injury Report: Defensive starters, James Morris (MLB) and Tom Nardo (DT), did not play due to injury. Backup linebacker Anthony Hitchens also was held out.

Coach Ferentz said that the trio had a chance to get back next week, but he didn't sound real optimistic about their return.

Backup running back Jordan Canzeri also missed the game. He went through pregame tests on a leg injury but must not have been cleared.

Ferentz said Canzeri could have played on Saturday but didn't practice all week. The coach said that he's likely to be back next week against Indiana.

-Tyler Nielsen moved from LEO to MLB on Saturday with the Morris injury.Tom Donatell started at LEO.

-With Nardo sidelined, Steve Bigach started at defensive tackle.

-B.J. Lowery returned to the field after missing the first five games with a hand injury. He played on special teams and on nickel and dime packages.

-Marvin McNutt's touchdown on Saturday marked the 21st of his career. He tied Tim Dwight and Danan Hughes for the school record.

-Iowa has scored 31 or more points in five of six games this season. The Hawkeyes lost 13-3 at Penn State last week.

-Iowa scored the games first 17 points. Northwestern then scored the next 17 before the Hawkeyes responded with the 17-point run.

-Tanner Miller tied Adam Shada's Iowa school record (2007, Purdue) with a 98-yard interception return for a touchdown.

-Iowa ended a three-game losing streak against the Wildcats. Northwestern also had won five of the last six in the series and three in a row at Kinnick.
