Breaking Basketball News

While The Shadow was eating BBQ pork, fried chicken and baked beans over the Memorial Day Weekend, the Iowa basketball staff was hard at work. However, this morning, amidst the belching and other gastronomical unpleasantries at his crib, my Dark Friend called me with this breaking basketball recruiting news:

The Hawks may have added a big piece to the basketball puzzle today with the committment of 7-0, 225 pound center Seth Gorney of Vandalia, Ohio.

Futurestars' Van Coleman says that "Gorney is very skilled offensively. He has good feet in the block and has a good understanding of the game. He needs to add more strength and fill out his body. However, He is only 17 so this should not be a problem with his good frame", Van said.

"He is rated 80-120 on all the services", added Coleman.

Gorney will be a freshman at Iowa after the graduation of Jared Reiner and Sean Sonderleiter. Seth will join 6-7 shooter deluxe, J.R. Angle and 6-9 Alex Thompson in the Hawkeye class of 2004.

There will be more to come at HTO on the Gorney commit soon so stay tuned.
