First Spring Two-Deeps

Iowa Coach Kirk Ferentz kicked off spring ball on Tuesday with a press conference. The team begins practice on Wednesday with a depth chart showing a lot of youth and inexperience.

Iowa CITY, Iowa - Iowa Coach Kirk Ferentz said on Tuesday that the following depth chart is a starting point when spring practice begins on Wednesday.

"I told the players that it won't mean anything in a week," Ferentz said.

Be that as it may, the starting point could open some eyes. The two deeps on the defensive line includes two seniors and six underclassmen. Redshirt freshmen Darian Cooper, Dean Tsopanides and Riley McMinn are listed as starters.

Redshirt freshman Jake Rudock moves into the No. 2 quarterback spot behind James Vandenberg. The top two running backs, Jordan Canzeri and Damon Bullock, are true sophomores.
