Austin Price continues moving forward towards his college decision with the November signing day approaching. The 2013 combo guard can begin taking official visits once his senior year of high school starts next week.
"I have it narrowed down a little bit," Price said of his selection process. "I have taken off some schools that were recruiting me. I'm still talking to schools that still call."
Price said the four schools at which he's looking the hardest are Iowa, Yale, Lehigh and Cornell. The Detroit Country Day School and The Family AAU product reports offers from each of them.
"I have some interest from Stanford, so I'm keeping them in, too," Price said. "Those are the main ones right now."
Price said he spoke with Iowa Assistant Sherman Dillard on Monday.
"We mostly were talking about when I can visit," the 6-foot-3 guard said. "They first wanted me to visit on (Sept.) 28th, but now they want me to come in on the 21st. I think I'll make it on the 21st, I just have to finalize it."
Price said he also would like to visit Yale, Lehigh and Cornell.
"I want to make my decision by early November when the high school season starts," he said.
Price said he plans to sign during the early period in November. The Hawkeyes could be the pick.
"They're still coming at me pretty hard," he said.
Iowa has one scholarship to hand out in '13. It also could hold the ride over to the following class, which Coach Fran McCaffery has said is a possibility. It could depend on how things go if Price makes it to town for his official visit.
"They're recruiting me more as a shooting guard," he said of the Hawkeyes. "They'd like me to shoot coming off screens. They said I can also bring the ball up the court sometimes and push it."
