"They don't see me as the biggest guy or the tallest guy, but they see me as an accurate, consistent leader that I am," Creath said. "They know that I can fit into their pro style offense because that's what our school runs."
The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder lines up under center for Christian Brothers College High in St. Louis. In addition to Iowa, Creath reports hearing from Michigan State, Illinois, Indiana and a little bit from home-state Missouri.
"I'm not really interested in Mizzou right now," he said.
Creath visited Iowa for its junior day on Sunday.
"It went really well," he said. "I met Coach (Kirk) Ferentz and I got to see Coach (Eric) Johnson again. He comes to my school every week or so."
Creath said Iowa is the program paying him the most attention right now.
"We haven't really talked about an offer," he said. "They're just telling me that they're highly interested. That's all I've heard."
Creath finished his 2012 season with 199 completions on 297 attempts, 30 touchdowns, 2,697 yards passing and 14 interceptions. He was named the second-team quarterback on Missouri's Class 6 All-State squad.
While Creath prefers to beat opponents with his arm, he's not a stationary target for defenses.
"I can take off when I want," he said.
A good athlete, Creath does not play other sports outside of football. During the offseason, he works with nationally recognized quarterback coach, Skip Stitzell.
"I train a lot with my team also and run and lift every day," Creath said.
Creath said he is working on speeding up his release and improving his footwork.
"My accuracy is there," he said.
Creath, who is considering a business major in college, is trying to get into the Elite 11 quarterback camp. He also is looking at visits to Michigan State and Illinois. He said it feels like his recruitment is just starting.
"It's still pretty early for me," Creath said. "It's all really new to me. I'd like to get an offer. That would be nice."
