Kuzma Climbing

Kyle Kuzma's recruitment continued to pick up as he raised his game during the recent evaluation period. The Flint, MI guard holds an impressive list of offers already and is hearing from schools like Iowa, Iowa State, VCU, Cincinnati and others. He talks about the process here.

Kyle Kuzma believes the Iowa system suites him. The 2014 wing man from Flint sees himself sliding into the spot now occupied by another Michigan standout.

"I think I would fit in really well at Iowa," Kuzma said. " I'm sort of like Devyn Marble. The way we play is very similar."

Iowa is scouting Kuzma, who runs with Dorian's Pride and Rise Academy. The 6-foot-7, 180-pounder reports scholarship offers from Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, UC-irvine, Tennessee Tech, Bradley, Oakland, Manhattan and Detroit. He said he's consistently hearing from Rhode Island, Iowa State, VCU, Arizona State and Cincinnati with Missouri and Georgia Tech recently joining the mix.

Kuzma said he played well last weekend in Atlanta and expected more scholarship offers to be coming his way as early as this week.

Iowa has been steadily recruiting Kuzma, he said.

"I talk to coach (Andrew) Francis a few times a month," Kuzma said. "We just talk about how I'd fit in at Iowa. He should be calling me this week."

Kuzma said he would be visiting VCU in a few weeks and had some other trips planned for the summer.

"Utah and Cincinnati visits are in June and hopefully I can get to Iowa sometime in the near future," he said.

Kuzma said he does not have any favorites right now and is keeping his recruitment wide open.

"I'm looking for a school that's going to push me to get the next level," he said. "I want to go somewhere where I can contribute as soon as possible and a place where there is a great fan base."

A decision by signing day is expected by Kuzma. He's planning to study business administration in college.
