IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Rob Report is back for its 11th season of Iowa Hawkeyes football. Today we look at the Week 2 win against Missouri State.

INJURY REPORT Jordan Lomax missed the game with a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 1 against Northern Illinois. He was replaced by true freshman Desmond King.

Iowa Coach Kirk Ferentz said after the game that Lomax didn't improve as the week went on but he has a chance to to be back in action for Iowa State this coming Saturday.

Reese Fleming (leg) and Michael Malloy (undisclosed) didn't play for Iowa on Saturday. It marked the second consecutive week they were sidelined.

Brandon Scherff left the game for a series in the first half when he went to the locker room. He returned on Iowa's next possession.

NEW FACES: Two true freshmen saw their first action on Saturday. Wide receiver Matt Vandeberg and LeShun Daniels, a running back, had their redshirts removed.

Ferentz had said Daniels would play but we hadn't heard much about Vandeberg, who originally was recruited as a gray shirt but was bumped up to a scholarship this fall.

Daniels carried 6 times for 30 yards, Vandenberg caught passes on back-to-back plays when he entered the game. He finished with two receptions for 17 yards.

-Desmond King was the first true freshman to start for Iowa since James Morris in 2010.

-Nate Meier and Quinton Alston saw quite a few reps at DE in Week 1 on passing downs. Iowa did not use that alignment much on Saturday.

-Anthony Hitchens led Iowa with eight tackles, including two for loss. He also picked up a sack, the only one recorded by the team this season.

-Iowa held a 36:37-21:42 advantage in time of possession and out gained the visitors 489 to 197 in total yards.

-Tanner Miller intercepted a pass in the end zone. It represented the fifth pick of the senior's career.
