Iowa CITY, Iowa - The Rob Report is back for its 11th season of Hawkeyes football. Today we look at Iowa 's 17-10, Week 9 overtime win against Northwestern at Kinnick Stadium.


Dominica Alvis, who left the Michigan State game with an injury and was knocked out of last week's contest with Ohio State did not dress on Saturday. The senior defensive end is dealing with a back injury and is day to day.

"It's something we'll probably have to deal with week to week," Iowa Coach Kirk Ferentz said after the Ohio State game.

Fullback Adam Cox was hurt on special teams and did not return in Columbus. He was full go against Northwestern.

Several Hawkeyes were nicked up Saturday but they seemed to be standard bumps and bruises of the game.



-The Iowa defense recorded six sacks today, a season-high and its highest total since recording six sacks against Florida International on Sept. 6, 2008.

-Iowa was penalized just two times. The Hawkeyes have committed three or few penalties in each of their last four games.

-Iowa won the turnover battle for the fifth time this season. It's won in each of those contests.

-Northwestern failed to score in the opening quarter, becoming the sixth team to come up empty in the first period against Iowa this season.

-Iowa has led at halftime of every game this season, including 10-0 on Saturday.

Mike Meyer kicked the 55th field goal of his career, moving him into second place on Iowa's all-time list behind Nate Kaeding (67). Meyer's five points against Northwestern pushed his career mark to 291, second again to Kaeding (373).

-C.J. Fiedorowicz caught two passes on Saturday, including the game-winning touchdown in overtime. He ran his streak to consecutive games with a catch to 26.

-James Morris recorded eight tackles, including 2.5 for loss and two sacks while recovering a fumble. He became the first FBS players this season to total three interceptions, three sacks and 50 tackles.

-The Hawkeyes improved to 6-3 all-time in overtime games, including a 2-1 mark in Kinnick.
