McCann checks out Hawkeyes

2015 Indianapolis (IN) Bishop Chatard offensive lineman Matt McCann took a second trip to see the Hawkeyes this past weekend.

2015 Indianapolis (IN) Bishop Chatard OL Matt McCann visited Iowa for the second time this past weekend. He was there previously for a camp but this was his first time on campus for a game. McCann has an offer from the Hawkeyes.

"It was a good visit," said McCann. "It was a great game. They pulled out a win in overtime. The crowd was amazing."

McCann discussed a few things he learned from watching the game closely.

"They (Iowa) run a similar offense to the one I'm in now," he explained. "They run a lot of under center stuff. They run the ball a lot and very well."

"They are known for producing offensive lineman," McCann continued. "Thats a big attraction for me."

The junior offensive lineman discussed his interest in the Iowa program.

"I'm real interested," McCann admitted. "They were excited that I was there. They really want me to go there. I could tell that they were very excited."

"I'm looking into them seriously right now," he added. "I like the fan base and coaching staff. I also like their brand of football. It's a great program and football town. I love it there."

McCann spoke about how he will approach his recruitment.

"I don't have leaders right now," he noted. "I'm in the process of learning about all the schools. Iowa is a school I really like but it's too big of a decision to make early."

McCann is finished with visits for now. He plans to take a few more visits in the Spring and attend a few camps during next summer.
