2015 Kirkwood (MO) St. John Vianney tight end Kyle Markway holds two offers at the moment, from Indiana and Iowa. The Hawkeyes are a familiar program and he knows what could await him in Iowa City.
"I think Iowa is a great place," said Markway. "The fans, coaches, and soon to be new facilities are awesome. The new facilities are going to be crazy. I also love how they utilize their tight ends."
Markway visited Iowa this season and gained a better appreciation for the school.
"I went to the Northwestern game," he confirmed. "It was an awesome experience. I was able to talk more with the coaches. The atmosphere for the game was great and the game was exciting so that was a plus."
The Hawkeye coaches have been in contact with Markway quite a bit and he knows what to expect.
"They love the way I play," he said of the coaching staff. "They think I am a perfect fit for their offense and they told me that I will be utilized in the offense. That is very appealing to me and everyone wants to be apart of the offense."
"Life after football is important to me and they shared the opportunities I'd have afterwards if I chose Iowa," he added.
With his teammate, senior Markel Smith, committed to Iowa and set to sign soon, Markway revealed the impact Smith's presence at Iowa would have on his college decision.
"Markel going to Iowa will help a little but in the long run I don't think it will be a deal breaker for anyone," he admitted. "I feel that he will be great for them and I'm excited for him."
The three-star junior tight end plans to make a late decision and wait out his recruiting process. He wants to have fun and look at other schools along the way.
Markway is also hearing from Alabama, Duke, Michigan State, Northwestern, Cincinnati, Minnesota, Auburn, and Vanderbilt.
