2015 Oak Creek (WI) offensive guard Nathan Veloz enjoyed a trip to Iowa City yesterday where he was able to acquaint himself with the Hawkeyes' program. As with other prospects that were on hand, the plans for the new complex and facilities had Veloz fired up.
"The visit was very cool," said Veloz. "The campus at Iowa is very nice. When they finish all the facilities, it will only get better there. The virtual tour was very eye-opening. They're going to have some of the nicest facilities in the country."
The three-star lineman discussed other parts of his visit that stuck out to him.
"We saw the game day locker rooms," Veloz shared. "Some of the players hung around and we got to talk and get to know them also. It was cool to be at the stadium too. We got to see the field from the press boxes."
Veloz does not hold an Iowa offer yet but was given a message by the staff that has him thinking he's in the discussion.
"They said that I will have choices to make down the road," Veloz explained. "I'm not sure what that means but it was about a possible offer. Hopefully it meant something in a good way."
Despite the lack of offer at this time, Veloz holds Iowa in high regard.
"I like Iowa a lot," he admitted. "It is definitely one of the top schools I'm interested in."
