Iowa performed well in the DMV (Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia) area during the last recruiting cycle. The Hawkeyes have hit the area hard again in the 2015 Class.
Iowa extended several scholarship offers in the DMV this week alone. One of them was delivered to talented defensive end Jonathan Holland, a Scout.com three-star prospect from The Bullis School in Potomac, MD.
"They visited me (Monday) and then called (Bullis) Coach (Patrick) Cilento (Tuesday) and he told me they wanted to offer me," the 6-foot-5, 225-pound Holland said.
"I am considering them because a lot of the DMV guys have gone there and committed and have had nothing but great things to say about Iowa," Holland said.
"I talk to him every day. I think he's a really cool guy and he's down to earth. I appreciate the offer he gave me and I think he's a great coach, also," Holland said.
Holland said he's spoken with White about visiting Iowa.
"We haven't settled on a date. I will sometime soon, hopefully," Holland said.
"I'm wide open," Holland said when asked if he had any leaders.
Holland said he hopes to commit before the start of his high school football season this fall. He has ideas about what he seeks in a college.
"I'm looking for a school that has great academics and great football. I want a place that has a good business program because I plan to major in International business. I want a place that I fit in and a place where I like my position coach and the whole staff," Holland said.
