Veloz Back at Iowa

Nathan Veloz certainly knows the way from Oak Creek, WI to Iowa City. He's made the trip quite a few times. The latest voyage came Sunday when he attended the Hawkeyes camp. He talked with HI about it and what he heard from the coaches.

Nathan Veloz knows Iowa. Before camping there on Sunday, the Wisconsin offensive lineman attended several games in the fall and a junior day this winter.

The 6-foot-4, 310-pound Veloz preps at Oak Creek High. Scout.com ranks him as a three-star prospect on its five-star scale.

Iowa is searching for offensive linemen in its 2015 class. Veloz is on the board.

"The camp went good. (The Hawkeye coaches) said they liked what they saw," Veloz said. "They said they'll be done evaluating in four weeks, so hopefully that means something good for me."

Veloz said his pass blocking stood out during the Iowa camp..

"I just feel like I need to improve a little on my run blocking," he said.

If the Hawkeyes were to come forward with an offer, it would interest Veloz, he said.

"All the coach's are very cool. I think it would be a great program to play for," Veloz said.

Veloz said he also plans to camp at Minnesota, Northwestern, Michigan State and Wisconsin this summer.
