Hokies First for Peters

Avon (Ind.) class of 2016 quarterback Brandon Peters talks about his offer from Virginia Tech and his experience in Blacksburg.

After starting at quarterback for the Avon Orioles as a sophomore, Brandon Peters (6-4, 195) has established himself as a prospect who will be a key target for schools coming through Indianapolis over the next two years.

Today, his recruitment hit a big milestone when he earned his first offer, one from the Virginia Tech Hokies after camping with them.

"It feels pretty good," he said of the offer. "It's a big accomplishment for me."

While in Blacksburg, Peters had an opportunity to work with Hokie quarterback coach Scott Loeffler, a man whose knowledge of the position stood out to the young signal caller.

"He's definitely someone that you can learn from and he really knows what he is talking about. He no doubt will make you better."

While his recruitment is young, Virginia Tech has put themselves in position to be there in the end with Peters.

"It was a pretty nice camp and the facilities are pretty nice. The coaches that I met were all cool. Overall, it was a pretty good visit."

Next for Peters is a visit to Iowa. He is also hearing from a number of other schools including Kentucky, Indiana, Purdue, Cincinnati, Illinois, Tennessee, all of whom he says he camped with.
