Illikainen sets visits
Three-star power forward Alex Illikainen is a skilled player who can score both inside and out. He will spend his senior season at Wolfeboro (NH) Brewster Academy, and now he is setting all of his official visits. “Alex is visiting Wisconsin on September 19,”said Brewster Academy Head Coach Jason Smith. “He will visit Oregon next weekend, and I believe he will make an unofficial visit to Minnesota tomorrow. He has been there several times unofficially already.” Last weekend Illikainen made his official visit to Iowa, and according to Smith the trip went very well. “I talked with Alex about Iowa, and he said the trip went great,” explained Smith. “He really connected with the coaching staff and had a great time. I know he really enjoyed himself and felt he fit in well.” Right now according to Smith Illikainen is taking a measured approach to his recruitment, and wants to make his visits before coming to a decision. “Alex is a very bright kid and comes from a good family,” stated Smith. “I know he wants to see all of the schools on his list and that will help him figure out the right place for him. He is the type of kid who will make an educated decision and find the best place for him.” Currently Illikainen has no specific timeframe for a decision, but he does plan on signing early. He is viewed as a three-star prospect and the No. 25 power forward overall.
